SERVPRO Hero Outpost once again delivers unforgettable experience to service, military personnel at Chubb Classic

NAPLES, Fla. - In addition to taking in world-class golf competition from the game’s greatest players on the exquisite Tiburon Golf Club layout, the SERVPRO Hero Outpost offered equally memorable experiences outside the ropes for all service personnel (police, fire, EMS), military personnel (active, reserve, retired and veterans), their families and a guest.
Located near the 17th green, the SERVPRO Hero Outpost provided a spacious and special haven, complete with comfortable seating, complimentary food and beverages from Michelbob’s Championship Ribs & Steak and spectacular views of the action for American heroes.
“If you think about everything lately, from the fires in Los Angeles to recent hurricanes here in South Florida, it’s the first responders that are right in there first,” said John Sooker, President and COO, SERVPRO. “At SERVPRO, we come in right behind them. So, we’re able to see the great work they do…the important work they do.”
Because first responders and military are all over the U.S., so, too, are the SERVPRO Hero Outposts. In addition to this week’s Chubb Classic, they are featured at a variety of other PGA TOUR Champions events, as well as stops on the PGA TOUR and LPGA Tour schedule.
“Day in and day out, first responders and military are putting their lives on the line to help people out,” Sooker said. “The Hero Outpost is designed to be a way for them to come in, relax with family and friends. It’s an opportunity for us to have them in and thank them for what they do.”
The biggest hit at the Hero Outpost at the Chubb Classic is the food, specifically the outlet providing it.
“Michelbob’s has been involved with the Chubb Classic for many years,” said Lou Bavaro, partner at Michelbob’s. “Tournament Director Sandy Diamond first approached me with the idea of being involved with the Hero Outpost…I jumped all over it.”
“Chubb is a very important partner of ours,” Sooker said. “For us to be able to partner with them again and be allowed to put the Hero Outpost in place is amazing. Chubb is such a fantastic partner for us, and we really appreciate all they – as well as the community – do. Plus, it’s a chance for them to come out and enjoy the incredible food Michelbob’s offers.”
“At Michelbob’s, we have a lot of programs designed to do a lot for military and first responders,” Bavaro said. “If you come by the restaurant any given day at lunch time, you’ll feel like you’re in a police department. We’re very much a proud institution that has been here for 43 years.”
While Bavaro does take pride and appreciation from hearing how grateful the first responders are, he insists that show of appreciation is misdirected.
“It is so nice to serve them, but, really, it’s us that are so appreciative of them,” Bavaro said. “My motivation is that a lot of my family is police, firefighter and military. I never served, but I absolutely want to serve them. Being able to do so truly is a blessing. They are the ones who deserve the appreciation.”
