Legends of Professional Golf Headed to Naples for the Chubb Classic Presented by SERVPRO
April 9, 2021 – Naples, Fla.: Fred Couples, Ernie Els, Retief Goosen and defending champion Scott Parel are among the legends of professional golf returning to Naples April 12-18th for the 2021 Chubb Classic presented by SERPRO.
This year’s field is highlighted by 17 former major winners on the PGA TOUR, including four-time winner Ernie Els, three-time winner Vijay Singh, and two-time winners Lee Janzen, Bernhard Langer, Jose Maria Olazabal, Mark O’Meara, Sandy Lyle and Goosen. The field includes eight former Masters champions, highlighted by Sandy Lyle, Ian Woosnam, Mike Weir, Couples, Singh, O’Meara, Olazabal and Langer.
Langer is one of the most prolific players in the history of the PGA TOUR Champions, having won a record 11 senior tour majors. He began the season needing only four more victories to surpass Hale Irwin’s record of 45 career wins on the senior tour.
The field also features two former players remembered in part for their epic duals against Tiger Woods in a major. Rocco Mediate pushed Woods to an unforgettable final round and 19-hole playoff in the 2008 U.S. Open at Torrey Pines. Chris Dimarco extended Woods to a one-hole playoff in the final round of the 2005 Masters, highlighted by Verne Lundquist’s famous call of Woods’ chip-in on the 16th hole.

· 56 PGA TOUR winners representing 356 career wins
· 54 PGA TOUR Champions winners totaling 274 career wins

The $1.6 million purse for the 2021 Chubb Classic will be contested over three rounds on the Black Course at Tiburon Golf Course in Naples, Fla. Coverage will air on Golf Channel at the following days/times:
· Friday, April 16th from 12:00-2:30pm EDT
· Saturday, April 17th from 3:00-5:30pm EDT
· Sunday, April 18th from 3:00-5:30pm EDT
