NAPLES, Fla. – Chubb Classic officials have announced that Friday, February 12 will be designated as Waste Management Go Green Day, and the first 1,200 spectators to enter the grounds wearing green will receive a Go Green item courtesy of Waste Management Inc. of Florida. The tournament takes place at TwinEagles Golf Club February 9 – 14.

Waste Management will hold a drawing on-site on Friday, February 12th at the Chubb Classic for a spectator to win two tickets to the 2017 Waste Management Phoenix Open and a $500 gift card for travel expenses. Waste Management will have booths at both entry ways as well as the expo tent within the Chubb Classic Expo Village where all spectators 18 years of age and over may enter to win.

Also inside the Waste Management Expo Tent, spectators will learn more about the importance of recycling correctly as well as Waste Management’s latest $35 million investment in replacing their fleet of collection vehicles with Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) powered vehicles that save 8-10,000 gallons of diesel fuel per truck, per year. In this interactive display, spectators will have another opportunity to win one of WM’s signature die-cast toy collection trucks on a putting green.

Chubb Classic officials have taken the pledge to Recycle Often. Recycle Right. ® at this event. Working with Waste Management, the tournament will be providing educational signage and recycling containers to encourage spectators to recycle correctly. Prior to the event, Waste Management will also be providing training to the tournament staff and volunteers to increase its recycling efforts. Tournament officials encourage spectators to show their support for protecting the environment by wearing green on Go Green Day.

“Partnerships like the Go Green Day with the Chubb Classic allow us the opportunity to reach a broader audience and together, we can contribute to a cleaner, greener environment by encouraging residents to Recycle Often and Recycle Right,” said Larry Berg, Sr. District Manager of Waste Management Inc. of Florida.
